By using CalcPercentages you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

These terms apply to every page on the domain, in every language, and to the calculators themselves. They do not create an account relationship, because there is no account system — using the site is the whole of the arrangement.

Use of the site

The calculator and its accompanying explanations are provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You may use the results in your own work without attribution, and you may quote a formula or a worked figure in your own material.

You may not attempt to disrupt the site, use automated systems to overload it, or present it as your own service.

What is not permitted

• Republishing the written explanations, reference tables or page structure as your own content.
• Framing or embedding the calculator on another site in a way that presents it as that site's own tool.
• Automated scraping at a rate that degrades the service for other visitors.
• Circumventing, obscuring or automatically clicking the advertising that funds the site.
• Using the site in a way that breaks the law where you are.

Using the arithmetic is not restricted, and could not be: mathematical formulas are not owned by anyone. What these terms cover is the writing around them.

Accuracy and disclaimer

Considerable care goes into the formulas and worked examples on this site, but the tool is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.

Nothing here is financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Percentage arithmetic is only one input into decisions that usually depend on rules specific to your jurisdiction and circumstances. Verify any result that matters before relying on it, and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

Reference data in particular

Some pages carry observed figures rather than derived arithmetic — tax rates by country, tipping conventions, typical margin ranges. Rates change, often at short notice, and conventions vary within a country. Those tables are orientation, not authority, and should be confirmed against the relevant official source before being acted on. The methodology page sets out where they come from.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site accepts no liability for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the site or its content.

Availability and changes

The site is offered without any guarantee of uptime. Features, content and these terms may change at any time without notice, and pages may be added, rewritten or removed.

Where a change to these terms is substantive, the revised version is published on this page and the review date at the foot of the page is updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.

Advertising and external links

The site is free and is funded by advertising placed outside the calculator. Advertisements are served by third parties and their content is not selected, endorsed or verified by this site. Pages here link to other calculators and to third-party references. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and this one does not cover them. A link is not an endorsement of the linked site's content, accuracy or commercial practices.

Intellectual property

The written explanations, reference tables, worked examples and design of this site belong to its operator. Mathematical formulas themselves are not owned by anyone; you are free to use them, and to reproduce a short quotation with attribution.
